A lesser-known cog of the region’s agriculture industry is goat farming. The Thousand Islands Goat Farm is an exampleof what one family has done to keep their farm acreage viable. The Stumpfs added goats to their heard in 2005 andhave since specialized in raising Boergoats, which are valued for their high quality lean meat that is popular for a varietyof ethnic holiday celebrations.
