Milk Made Farms

Milk Made Farms, owned by Mark and Patty Forbes, is a small farm is nestled on 60 acres of pastureland.  Here they offer vegetables and herbs for sale, but their main market is goat soaps and lotions.  They make the soaps and lotions from scratch with milk from their own herd of 50 registered Saanen dairy goats.  Goat’s milk soap is unique because it is very gentle on skin.  Customers praise them for their products saying that the lotions have helped to heal their dry skin when nothing else would.  Recently they have begun to offer other products such as bath salts, milk baths, and an all natural lip balm.  They also sell breeding stock and milking goats.  In addition to the goats, they have a small flock of Icelandic Sheep.  They offer lambs for sale as well as fleece.   Milk Made Farms raises heritage breed chickens and turkeys.  They have fresh eggs available for sale, sell chicks and turkey poults in the spring, and have holiday turkeys available in the fall.  They also have milk fed hogs for sale.  All animals on the farm are raised naturally, and have no added hormones or antibiotics.  Milk Made Farms is currently in the process of expanding their barn, and expect to have their gift shop open by Christmas 2010 featuring their soaps and lotions, as well as other local products.  They are currently working on a line of goat’s milk and cow’s milk cheeses, which will be available in 2011.
