Farmers Dave and Dani welcome you to Cross Island Farms, the region’s certified organic meat and vegetable farm, reviving the tradition of farming on Wellesley Island, the largest of the American islands. We practice sustainable agriculture through natural mulching and crop rotation in our gardens and through intensive rotational pasture management for our livestock. While here you’ll have a chance to meet our pigs, goats, chickens, beefers and our dogs Poco, Gemini, Snow Toes & Splash Gordon. The dogs love to pull us on our skis during the winter months on our trails throughout the farm.In the spring, turtles can be found laying their eggs in the raised rows of our gardens.Natural predators like snakes, frogs, toads and birds can be seen feasting on bugs in our gardens and pastures. We sell only in-season produce grown on our farm on the island at our self-service roadside farm stand open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day from May to October.Special orders are also taken for both vegetables and meats. In late spring we offer certified organic vegetable plants for sale in our self-service roadside greenhouse. If we’re here when you visit we would love to give you a tour or you can call us at 315-482-FOOD (3663) to arrange one.We also welcome volunteers eager to work on the farm and learn about organic crop and livestock management. In addition to our plants, vegetables, and livestock, we also sell honey, maple syrup, eggs and fresh fruits when available. We are now offering year-round primitive camping. Hike, ski or snowshoe one-quarter or one-half mile to your private campsite, with use of woods, pond and pasture...just one mile from amenities at Wellesley Island State Park. Thank you for coming by.We hope you enjoy your time on Wellesley Island.
