We have a newly awarded $26,500 grant from the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets. This will provide us with a pole barn pavilion 40 ft by 120ft for approximately 50 vendors. This is a matching fund so where as 4 community governments have to provide in kind service, labor, materials.
We have produce grown locally, utilize the WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program, and imported from adjacent states only because of our lack for fruits and some berries.
We also have vendors with crafts made at home, not imported, and flea market items.

Description: Our Monday Neighborhood Farmers' Market is a small local market offering locally grown agricultural products.
Our mission is to provide our immediate low-income neighborhood with a resource for fresh vegetables. Our hours cater to the needs of our community, so that they may have access to fresh produce on their way home from work.
During the market our nutrition teaching assistants from Cornell Cooperative Extension will be available to provide recipes and nutrition information. We will also have a Food Stamp representative available to interview and sign residents up for food stamps.
